Al-ʿAqīdah aṭ-Ṭaḥāwiyya or "The Fundamentals of Islamic Creed by the Imām aṭ-Ṭaḥāwī" is a single unifying treatise on Islamic creed that has historically been accepted by almost all Sunnī Muslims. Several mainstream Sunni scholars have written about the Tahawiyyah creed, including a well-known explanation by the late Saudi Mufti Abd al-Aziz ibn Baaz, and a commentary by Ibn al-Siraj al-Hanafi. It comprises 105 key points that list the essential matters in the creed of the Ahlus Sunnah wa`l Jama`ah.

This text discusses many essential points of creed and defines the belief of a Sunni Muslim. Some of the areas covered are as following:

  • On Tawhid
  • On Prophet Muhammad
  • On the Qur'an
  • On the Mi'raj
  • On Al Kawthar
  • On Intercession
  • On the Covenant
  • On Taqdir
  • On the Throne and Chair

and many other essential matters.
